i was telling Rebecca this evening about the blue linen skirt Mummy made for me. I had no uniform at the comp only a colour code and Mummy mad esome beautiful skirts for me. This one linen skirt was light blue. It had embroidered flowers on the pockets that Mummy sewed so neatly. She drew some threads at the bottom of the skirt and then produce a white embroidered pattern through them - a bit like embroidery anglaise. Mummy was so clever. She made this skirt with a very deep hem so that she could alter it again as I grew so that I could still wear it. When she turned down the hem she just drew some more of the threads and embroidered it to conceal the older hem line. i loved them skirt. i remember my DDT teacher remarking upon how beautiful it was. She recognised Mummy’s incredible akill and artistry. It was one of the most beautiful skirts that I have ever worn.
